Why people call

  • The event, not every glitch

Policies list what they respond to. A slow website is not the same thing as a breach. We read the definitions.

  • Response, not a substitute for notice

Florida has rules for telling people after certain breaches. A policy does not make that notice for you.

  • No sample payouts

Limits and what the policy actually pays depend on the form. We do not print sample dollar amounts.

What it covers

A cyber policy can help with the cost of responding to a covered privacy or security event: notifying affected people, restoring systems, and, when the form says so, a ransom demand or a fraudulent transfer. Social engineering, where someone is tricked into sending money, is often a sublimit or an option, not a given. We will say which of those a quote includes.

It does not cover a customer who slips in the store. It does not replace professional liability if the claim is that your advice was wrong. It does not guarantee you will be back online, and it does not cover an event you already know about. Applications ask about backups, email, and how you take payments. Answer those honestly.

Who needs it

Any Palm Bay or Brevard County business that keeps customer, employee, or payment information, or that would struggle if email and files were locked. That includes small shops, not only technology firms. A contract may also ask for cyber limits before you start work.

If personal information was exposed, Florida has its own rules for notifying the people affected, and in some cases a state office. This office does not make that notice and does not give legal advice. Call a lawyer for the notice. Call us for the insurance.

For a quote, call or text (321) 429-1182 or choose Cyber liability on the form. Tell us what data you hold and whether you have had a breach or a fraudulent payment. We do not publish prices.

A free quote is not a policy. Nothing on this page is a binder of coverage.

Questions people ask

What does a cyber policy actually do?

It responds to the events the form defines, often a breach of private data, an attack that locks your systems, or a related lawsuit. The help can include response costs and liability, up to the limits. It is not a maintenance plan for your computers.

Does it pay a ransom?

Only if that coverage is on the policy, and only under the conditions in the form. Some quotes leave ransomware out or cap it separately. We will show you the section. We will not promise a payment.

Someone emailed me new bank details and we paid them. Is that covered?

Maybe, and often only if the policy includes social-engineering or funds-transfer fraud. Many cyber forms treat that differently from a hack of your own network. Tell us how the payment happened. We will not call every mistaken payment a covered hack.

Is this the same as general liability?

No. General liability is for bodily injury and property damage. A stolen customer list or a locked server is a cyber question. A certificate for general liability does not prove you have cyber coverage.

We are a small shop. Do we need this?

If you keep names, card payments, or employee records, you have something to lose. Size is not the test. A contract can also require the coverage. We will not tell you that every business must buy it.

Does the policy handle Florida breach notices?

A policy may pay for notification required by law if the event is covered. It does not decide whether you must notify, and it does not file the notice. Florida’s notice rules are a legal question. We do not give that advice.

We already had an incident. Can we insure it?

You have to disclose it. A policy generally will not pay for an event that already happened. We can still quote coverage going forward. Do not hide the incident on the application.

Is the quote free?

Yes. There is no broker fee to compare cyber options. The carrier decides whether to offer a policy.
